Earlier India won the toss and decided to fielding first, West Indies set up the run a ball exact 300-runs in 300-balls for losing five wickets, their top scorer by Ramnaresh Sarwan 84, Shivnarine Chanderpaul 74 and Chris Gayle scored 72-runs.
India bowler Harbhajan Singh took two wickets, Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra and Sourav Ganguly each took 1-1 wickets.
