Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez's fifties guided Pakistan convincing five-wicket victory over South Africa, despite a masterclass century from Hashim Amla - Rassie van der Dussen's debut 93 and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

South Africa's 266 was their joint sixth highest score against Pakistan at their home venue in One-day internationals. 155 : Hashim Amla and Rassie van der Dussen set up the joint second highest second-wicket partnership for South Africa against Pakistan in One-day internationals, jointly unbeaten 155-run stand between AB de Villiers and Jacques Kallis at Johannesburg in 2007. Rassie van der Dussen became the 8th South African player to score 50 or more runs on debut ODI match. Rassie van der Dussen's 93 was the fourth highest by an South African debut batsman in One-day internationals. 3 : Hashim Amla equalled a joint most centuries hit by an South African batsman against Pakistan in One-day internationals, jointly 3-hundreds hit by AB de Villiers. Rassie van der Dussen became the first South African batsman to dismissal on nervous nineties on debut ODI match. Rassie van der Dussen's 93 was the fourth highest score by an South African batsman on debut ODI match.

South Africa scored 266-2 in 50-overs with top scorer by Hashim Amla 108 not out off 120-balls - which was his 27th ODI hundred and his third century against Pakistan in ODIs - including 7-fours and a six.

Rassie van der Dussen 93 off 101-balls - who fell seven-run short of his century on debut ODI match - including 6-fours & 3-sixes, Reeza Hendricks scored 45 off 67-balls included 5-fours and David Miller 16 not out.

Pakistan best bowler by Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali both took one-wickets.

Pakistan chased 267-5 in 49.1 overs with top scorer by Imam-ul-Haq struck 86 off 101-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes, Mohammad Hafeez 71 not out.

Babar Azam 49 - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 5-fours, Fakhar Zaman 25 and Shadab Khan 18 not out.

South Africa best bowler by Debutant Duanne Olivier - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match, Andile Phehlukwayo, Reeza Hendricks and Imran Tahir each took one-wickets.

Mohammad Hafeez named Player of the match for his match-winning masterclass unbeaten 71-runs knocked off facing 63-balls including 8-fours and 2-sixes.
