Stunning century from Tom Latham and A superb innings of 95 by Ross Taylor helped to New Zealand's record six-wicket victory over India, despite a Virat Kohli's masterclass ton and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

  • New Zealand chased 281 was their tenth highest score in One-day international and It is their highest chase against India in ODIs, previous highest chase was 279 at Hamilton in 2014.
  • 200 : Ross Taylor and Tom Latham set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for New Zealand in One-day internationals, previously held by the 191-run stand between Jesse Ryder and Corey Anderson against West Indies at Queenstown in 2014 and New Zealand's sixth highest any-wicket stand in ODIs.
  • Virat Kohli became the 13th Indian player to appearances 200 ODI matches.
  • India's 280 was their tenth highest score against New Zealand in One-day internationals.
  • New Zealand's 284 was their 11th highest score against India in One-day internationals.
  • Virat Kohli hit the third most centuries hit for India against New Zealand in One-day internationals.

India scored 280-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 121 off 125-balls - which was his 31st ODI hundred & his fourth century against New Zealand in ODIs - including 9-fours & 2-sixes.

Dinesh Karthik scored 37 off 45-balls including 4-fours, Bhuvneshwar Kumar blasted a 26 off 15-balls included 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 173.33 MS Dhoni 25, Rohit Sharma 20 and Hardik Pandya 16.

New Zealand best bowler by Trent Boult claimed a 4-wicket haul for 35-runs in 10-overs, Tim Southee picked up three-wickets and one for Mitchell Santner.

New Zealand chased 284-4 in 49 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham 103 not out - which was his 4th ODI hundred and his first century against India in ODIs.

Ross Taylor 95 - who fell five-run short for his ODI hundred, Martin Guptill scored 32 off 48-balls including 5-fours and Colin Munro hit 28 off 35-balls included 3-fours & a six.

India best bowler by Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav each took one-wickets.

Tom Latham named Player of the match for his match-winning magnificent unbeaten 103-runs knocked off facing 102-balls including 8-fours and 2-sixes.
