Trent Boult's record-breaking five-for after Classy half-centuries from Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor guided New Zealand's record 183-run victory over Pakistan and took an unassailable 3-0 lead to seal the series in a one-sided game of the third ODI.

  • New Zealand's 183-run win was their ninth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and it is their biggest win against Pakistan in ODIs, previous biggest win by 138-runs at Christchurch in 2001.
  • Pakistan's 183-run defeat was their fourth worst by margin of runs in ODIs.
  • New Zealand's 257 was their third highest score at University Oval in One-day internationals.
  • Pakistan's 74 was their joint third lowest score in One-day international, it is their worst total against New Zealand in ODIs, previous lowest was 116 at Dumbulla in 2003 and the joint second lowest ODI total in New Zealand.
  • Trent Boult's 5 for 17 was his third best bowling performance for New Zealand in One-day international and the best bowling figures by an New Zealand bowler against Pakistan in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 5 for 30 held by Matt Henry at Abu Dhabi in 2014.
  • Trent Boult became the first-ever bowler to claimed a five-wicket haul at University Oval in One-day international cricket history.
  • Trent Boult became the seventh New Zealand bowler to take a five-wicket haul against Pakistan in One-day internationals.

New Zealand scored 257 for all-out in exact 50 overs with top scorer by Kane Williamson struck 73 off 101-balls including seven boundaries.

Ross Taylor cracked a 52 off 64-balls including 4-fours, Martin Guptill hit 45 off 62-balls and Tom Latham scored a run-a-ball 35-runs with 3-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Rumman Raees, Hasan Ali both picked up 3-wickets, Shadab Khan took 2-wickets and one for Faheem Ashraf.

Pakistan scored 74 for all-out in 27.2 overs with top scorer by Rumman Raees 16, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir each scored 14-runs.

New Zealand best bowler by Trent Boult 5-17, Colin Munro and Lockie Ferguson both took 2-wickets.

Trent Boult named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to claimed a 5-wicket haul for 17-runs in 7.2 overs.
