Half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli before Amit Mishra's record-breaking 5 for 18 helped to India's record 190-run victory over New Zealand and clinch the five-match series with 3-2 in a one-sided series-decider game of the fifth and final ODI.

  • India's 190-run win was their fourth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and it is their biggest victory against New Zealand in ODIs, previous biggest win by 174-runs at Hyderabad in 1999.
  • New Zealand's 190-run defeat was their fourth worst by margin of runs in ODIs.
  • New Zealand's 79-run was their fifth lowest score in One-day international and it is their worst total against India in ODIs.
  • Amit Mishra's 5 for 18 was his second best bowling performance for India in One-day international and the best figures by an Indian bowler against New Zealand in ODIs, surpassing the previous best of 5 for 27 held by Kris Srikkanth at same venue in 1988.
  • New Zealand lost their last seven wickets for just 16-runs - which was their second worst seven-wicket collapse in ODIs. They went from 63 for 3 to 79 all out.
  • 5 New Zealand batsmen who were out without scored in their innings, the joint-most batsmen ducks in an Innings in One-day internationals, jointly with their own record of 5 ducks against Pakistan at Auckland in 2001.

India scored 269-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Rohit Sharma struck 70 off 65-balls including 5-fours and 3-sixes, Virat Kohli cracked a 65-runs off 76 deliveries included two-fours and a six.

MS Dhoni scored 41 off 59-balls including 4-fours & a six, Kedar Jadhav cracked a unbeaten 39 off 37-balls included 2-fours & a six, Axar Patel 24 and Ajinkya Rahane 20.

New Zealand best bowler by Trent Boult, Ish Sodhi both took 2-wickets and one for James Neesham - Mitchell Santner.

New Zealand bundled out for 79 in 23.1 overs with top scorer by Kane Williamson struck 27-balls off 40-balls including four boundaries, Tom Latham and Ross Taylor each scored 19-runs.

India best bowler by Amit Mishra 5-18, Axar Patel takes 2-wickets for 9-runs in 4.1 overs, debutant Jayant Yadav - who took 1-wicket on his debut ODI match, Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav both took one-wickets.

Amit Mishra named Player of the match for his excellent spin bowling attack to claimed a 5-wicket haul for 18-runs in 6-overs including two maidens.

Amit Mishra earned player of the series for claiming 15-wickets in the five-match ODI series.
