Bowlers attack before Mohammad Hafeez's century and Babar Azam's fifty helped to Pakistan comfortable six-wicket victory over England and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • 133 : Eoin Morgan and James Taylor set up the second highest fourth-wicket partnership for England against Pakistan in One-day international and England's joint ninth highest fourth-wicket stand in ODIs, jointly 133 between Ian and Paul Collingwood against Australia at Melbourne in 2007.
  • 106* : Mohammad Hafeez and Babar Azam set up the record fifth-wicket partnership for Pakistan against England in One-day international, previously held by the 92-run stand between Javed Miandad and Imran Khan at Sharjah in 1987.
  • Mohammad Hafeez became the seventh Pakistan player to score a hundred against England in One-day internationals.

England scored 216 for all-out in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan struck 76 off 96-balls including 11-fours.

James Taylor cracked a 60 off 82-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes and Chris Woakes scored 33 off 49-balls included a boundary.

Pakistan best bowler by Mohammad Irfan picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 10-overs including two maidens, Anwar Ali and Shoaib Malik both took 2-wickets and one for Yasir Shah.

Pakistan chased 217-4 in 43.4 overs with top scorer by Mohammad Hafeez 102 not out - which was his 11th ODI hundred.

Babar Azam cracked a unbeaten run-a-ball 62-runs including 4-sixes & 2-fours and Shoaib Malik 26.

England best bowler by Reece Topley picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 9-overs including a maiden and Moeen Ali took one-wicket.

Mohammad Hafeez named player of the match for his match-winning masterclass unbeaten 102-runs knocked off facing 130-balls including 10-fours and a six.
