Sensational Thisara Perera's power-packed 80* before Angelo Mathews and Sachithra Senanayake's combined 5-wickets helped to Sri Lanka hard-fought 13-run victory over Bangladesh and take a 1-0 lead in a low-scoring thriller of the first ODI.

82 : Thisara Perera and Sachithra Senanayake set up the record ninth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in One-day international, previously held by the unbeaten 39-run stand between Farveez Maharoof and Muttiah Muralitharan at same venue in 2009 and Sri Lanka's second highest ninth-wicket stand in ODIs. Bangladesh lost their last six wickets for just 34-runs - which was their second worst six-wicket collapse against Sri Lanka in One-day international. They went from 133 for 4 to 167 for all out. Bangladesh's 167 was their fifth lowest score against Sri Lanka at their home venue in One-day internationals. Sri Lanka's 180 was their second lowest score in the completed innings against Bangladesh in One-day international and also It is their second worst total in Bangladesh soil in ODIs.

Sri Lanka 67 for 8 to scored 180 for all-out in 40 overs with top scorer by Thisara Perera 80 not out, Sachithra Senanayake struck 30 off 48-balls including 2-fours & a six, Kusal Perera 20.

Bangladesh best bowler by Shakib Al Hasan, debutant Arafat Sunny, Rubel Hossain each picked up two-wickets and one for Sohag Gazi - debutant Al-Amin Hossain.

Bangladesh scored 167 for all-out in 39.2 overs with top scorer by Shamsur Rahman hammered a 62 off 49-balls including 5-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 126.53.

Mominul Haque scored 44 off 53-balls including 7-fours and Mushfiqur Rahim 27.

Sri Lanka best bowler Angelo Mathews picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 7.2 overs, Sachithra Senanayake took 2-wickets and one for Thisara Perera - Lasith Malinga.

Thisara Perera named Player of the match for his sensational batting performance smashed a power-packed unbeaten 80-runs knocked off facing 57-balls including 6-sixes and 4-fours with strike rate of 140.35.
