Masterclass Virat Kohli's unbeaten 139* steers to India domineering three-wicket victory over Sri Lanka despite a Angelo Mathews' maiden ODI century and clinch the five-match series 5-0 in the fifth ODI.

This is the fifth time India have whitewashed their oppositions in a bilateral five-match series in One-day international and their first against Sri Lanka in ODIs. This is the first time Sri Lanka have suffered a clean sweep in a bilateral five-match series in One-day internationals. This is the first time both captains (Angelo Mathews 139* and Virat Kohli 139*) had scored exact unbeaten 139 in the same match in One-day international cricket history. Angelo Mathews (139*) and Virat Kohli (139) - it is the 3rd Instances of both captains had scored centuries in same match in One-day internationals. 21 : Virat Kohli equalled a joint fifth most centuries in One-day internationals, jointly with Chris Gayle and Herschelle Gibbs. 6 : Virat Kohli equalled a joint second most centuries hit by an Indian batsman against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals, jointly with 6 hundreds by Gautam Gambhir. 10 : Angelo Mathews hit the second most sixes in an innings for Sri Lanka in One-day international and the joint eighth in the list of most sixes in an innings in ODIs. 10 : Angelo Mathews hit the most sixes by an Sri Lankan batsman against India in an Innings in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 5 jointly held by Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara and Dinesh Chandimal.

Ambati Rayudu struck 59 off 69-balls included 8-fours & a six, Kedar Jadhav scored 20 and Robin Uthappa 19.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Ajantha Mendis claimed a 4-wickets for 73-runs in 9.4-overs and Angelo Mathews took two wickets.

Angelo Mathews named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 33-runs in 7-overs after scoring a career-best unbeaten 139-runs knocked off facing 116-balls including 6-fours and 10-sixes

Virat Kohli earned player of the series for brilliant batting performance to contributed 329-runs including two-fifties and a century in the five-match series.
