Martin Guptill's record-breaking double-century sets up to New Zealand thumping 143-run victory over West Indies and enter into semi-final in the World Cup fourth Quarter-final match.

  • Martin Guptill became the second batsman to score a double-century in World Cup after Chris Gayle.
  • Martin Guptill became the first New Zealand batsman to score a double-hundred in One-day international cricket history and overall the fifth player in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma has made two such scores and Chris Gayle.
  • Martin Guptill hammered a 152-ball fifth fastest double-century in One-day internationals.
  • Martin Guptill plundered unbeaten 237 - the highest score by any batsman in World Cup history, surpassing the previous record of 215 held by Chris Gayle against Zimbabwe at Canberra in this World Cup and the second highest-score by any batsman in ODIs after Rohit Sharma's 264.
  • 11 : Martin Guptill hit the second most sixes in an innings in World Cup after Chris Gayle's 11-sixes, It is the second most sixes hit in an innings for New Zealand in One-day international after Corey Anderson's 14-sixes and the joint seventh in the list of most sixes hit in an innings in ODIs, jointly 11-sixes hit by Sanath Jayasuriya, Shahid Afridi and Denesh Ramdin.
  • 393-6 : This was New Zealand's third highest score and their highest ever score made against West Indies in ODIs.

New Zealand scored mammoth total of 393-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill 237 not out - who became the first New Zealand batsman to score 200-plus in ODI's.

Ross Taylor struck 42 off 61-balls including two boundaries, Kane Williamson scored 33, Grant Elliott 27 and Corey Anderson 15.

West Indies best bowler by Jerome Taylor picked up 3-wickets and Andre Russell took two-wickets.

West Indies scored 250 for all-out in 30.3 overs with top scorer by Chris Gayle who scored rapid 61 off 33-balls including 2-fours and 8-sixes with striking rate of 184.84,  Jason Holder scored 42 off 26-balls included five-fours and two-sixes, Jonathan Carter 32, Marlon Samuels and Darren Sammy each scored 27-runs.

New Zealand best bowler by Trent Boult claimed 4-wickets for 44-runs from 10-overs, Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee each picked up two-wickets, Corey Anderson and Adam Milne each took one-wickets.

Martin Guptill named Player of the match for his sensational batting performance to scored unbeaten 237-runs off 163-balls Including 24-fours and 11-sixes with strike rate of 145.39.
