Chris Gayle's century after Four-wicket haul from Sunil Narine and Ravi Rampaul's three-for helped to West Indies comfortable six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka and earn bonus-point win in a low-scoring game of the opening match of a Tri-nation series.

Match Stats : 
  • 21 : Chris Gayle equalled a joint fifth most centuries hit by a batsman in One-day internationals, jointly with Herschelle Gibbs.
  • Chris Gayle became the ninth West Indies batsman to score a hundred against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals.
  • 115 : Chris Gayle and Johnson Charles set up the fifth highest first-wicket partnership for West Indies against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals.

Sri Lanka scored 208 for all-out in 48.3 overs with top scorer by Angelo Mathews cracked a unbeaten 55 off 77-balls including 5-fours.

Mahela Jayawardene scored a run-a-ball 52 including 7-fours, Upul Tharanga 25 and Dinesh Chandimal 21.

West Indies best bowler by Sunil Narine claimed a 4-wickets for 40-runs in 10-overs, Ravi Rampaul picked up 3-wickets for 38-runs in 10-overs, Dwayne Bravo took 2-wickets and one for Marlon Samuels.

West Indies chased 209-4 in 37.5 overs with top scorer by Chris Gayle 109 - which was his 21st ODI hundred and his first century against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Johnson Charles struck 29 off 58-balls including 2-sixes & a four, Darren Bravo 27 and Marlon Samuels 15 not out.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Rangana Herath, Nuwan Kulasekara and Ajantha Mendis each took one-wickets.

Chris Gayle named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant 109-runs off facing 100-balls including 9-fours and 7-sixes.
