South African star batsman Gary Kirsten smashed a record-breaking sparkling unbeaten 188-runs knocked off facing 159-balls including 13-fours and 4-sixes helped to South Africa set up the imposing total of 321 against United Arab Emirates in the second match of the Wills World Cup at Rawalpindi.
* Gary Kirsten 188* not out was the highest individual score ever in World Cup matches, surpassing Viv Richards' 181* against Sri Lanka at Karachi in 1987. 2nd highest ODI score of all time, needing 3 off last ball to equal Viv Richards' all time One-day International record score of 189.
Gary Kirsten - who slammed his 3rd one-day international century - which was his first hundred in World Cups and his 100 came from 105-balls.
