A brilliant 102-run opening partnership between Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar before a fine half-century from Hemang Badani led to India hard-fought three-wicket victory over Zimbabwe and take a 1-0 lead in a tight-game of the first ODI.

  • 102 : Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar set up the fourth highest first-wicket partnership for India against Zimbabwe in One-day internationals.

India chased 255-7 in 47.2 overs with top scorer by Hemang Badani 58 not out, Sachin Tendulkar - Sourav Ganguly both scored 44-runs, Vijay Dahiya struck a run-a-ball 35-runs including 3-fours & a six and Ajit Agarkar 19 not out.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Brian Murphy, Dirk Viljoen both takes 2-wickets and one for Heath Streak.
