Half-centuries from Upul Tharanga and Chamara Silva before Muttiah Muralitharan magic spin bowling attack guided Sri Lanka cruise 69-run victory over India and stormed into the Super Eights in the final league match of the World Cup.

India exit's and suffered one of their most disappointing days in recent memory, muffing up a run-chase on a pitch posing no worries, and were all but ousted from the World Cup, in what is likely to be their worst campaign since 1979.

Sri Lanka scored decent total of 254-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Upul Tharanga struck 64 off 90-balls including six boundaries.

Chamara Silva cracked a 59 off 68-balls included five-fours, Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 38 off 41 deliveries with 3-fours, Russell Arnold, Chaminda Vaas each scored a unbeaten 19-runs and Kumar Sangakkara 15.

India best bowler by Zaheer Khan takes two-wickets, Sourav Ganguly, Ajit Agarkar, Sachin Tendulkar and Munaf Patel each took one-wickets.

India scored 185 for all-out in 43.3 overs with top scorer by Rahul Dravid cracked a 60 off 82-balls including six boundaries.

Virender Sehwag struck 48 off 46-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century included five-fours and a Robin Uthappa scored 18 and Harbhajan Singh 17 not out.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Muttiah Muralitharan picked up 3-wickets, Chaminda Vaas takes two-wickets, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Dilhara Fernando and Lasith Malinga each took one-wickets.

Muttiah Muralitharan named Player of the match for his magnificent bowling spell to picking up 3-wickets for 41-runs in 10-overs.
