The Flower brothers Andy and Grant sets up to Zimbabwe thrilling one-wicket victory over India, despite a Sachin Tendulkar's 146 and keep series alive in a nail-biter game of the third ODI.

  • This is the Zimbabwe's first ODI win against India in Indian soil in the 12th ODI meeting between these sides in ODIs.
  • Zimbabwe chased 284 was their second highest successful run-chase in One-day international after their highest chase was 288 against West Indies at 171 at Chester-le-Street earlier in this year and it is their highest chase against India in ODIs, previous highest chase was Centurion in 1997.
  • 158 : Andy Flower and Grant Flower set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for Zimbabwe in One-day internationals, previously held by the 148-run stand between Neil Johnson and Andy Flower against Sri Lanka at Sharjah in 1998 and the Zimbabwe's highest any-wicket stand against India in ODIs, previously held by the 125-run stand between Alistair Campbell and Murray Goodwin at Bulawayo in 1998.
  • 114 : Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid set up the fifth highest second-wicket partnership for India against Zimbabwe in One-day internationals.
  • Sachin Tendulkar aggregated 1074 runs in 26 matches against Zimbabwe in One-day international. He became the first batsman to aggregate 1000 runs against Zimbabwe in ODIs.
  • 11 : Sachin Tendulkar hit the most hundreds in home venue matches in One-day internationals, surpassing the previous record of 10 centuries by West Indian Desmond Haynes.
  • 27-runs : Number of runs that were scored in the 50th over from Henry Olonga, which was the most productive over for India in One-day international cricket history and the joint fourth most expensive-over in ODIs.
  • Zaheer Khan scored 25-runs (1, 6, 6, 6, 6.) - the most runs scored by an indian batsman in an over in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 24-runs jointly held by Kapil Dev off Australian Craig McDermott at Rajkot in 1986 and Sachin Tendulkar off New Zealander Chris Drum at Hyderabad in 1999.
  • Ajit Agarkar became the seventh Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in One-day internationals.
  • 6 : Grant Flower equalled a joint third most Man-of-the-Match awards for Zimbabwe in One-day internationals, jointly 6 awards with Neil Johnson and Paul Strang.
  • 3 : Grant Flower won the Most-of-the-Match awards by an Zimbabwe player against India in One-day internationals.
  • Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to scored five centuries against Zimbabwe in ODI cricket history.
  • Sachin Tendulkar's 146 was his second highest score for India in One-day international after his 186 against New Zealand at Hyderabad in 1999 and the third highest-score by an Indian batsman against Zimbabwe in ODIs.
  • India's 283 was their third highest score against Zimbabwe in One-day internationals.
  • Zimbabwe's 284 was their joint fourth highest score in One-day international and It is their highest total against India in ODIs, previous highest was 269 at Cuttack in 1998.

India scored 283-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sachin Tendulkar struck 146 off 153-ball - which was his 27th ODI hundred and his fifth century against Zimbabwe in ODIs -  including 15-fours and 2-sixes, 

Zaheer Khan hammered a unbeaten 32 off 11-balls including 4-sixes with strike rate of 290.90.

Rahul Dravid struck 30 off 53-balls including 3-fours, Sunil Joshi cracked a 25 off 24-balls with 2-fours and a six.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Grant Flower picked up 3-wickets, Brian Strang and Heath Streak both took two-wickets.

Zimbabwe chased 284-9 in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Andy Flower struck 77 off 106-balls including five-fours and a six, Grant Flower scored 70, Mluleki Nkala cracked a 36 off 27-balls included 4-fours & a six, Alistair Campbell scored 24 and Heath Streak 23.

Grant Flower named Player of the match for his all-round performance to scored 70 off 94-balls including four-fours & a six and his brilliant spin bowling to picked up 3-wickets for 43-runs in 10-overs.
