  • Australia's 203-run win was their fifth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their second biggest win in World Cups after their 256-run win against Namibia at Potchefstroom in the 2003 World Cup.
  • This is the third time in World Cup history that a team has won with a 200+ margin. England achieved it against India in the first edition and then Australia did it against Namibia in 2003.
  • Ricky Ponting hammered a 85-ball seventh fastest century in World Cup and the second fastest hundred by an Australian batsman in World Cups after Steve Waugh's 91-ball century against South Africa at Leeds in the 1999 World Cup.

Australia scored massive total of 334-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ricky Ponting 113 - which was his 23rd ODI hundred and his 4th century in World Cups.

Matthew Hayden struck 60 off 73-balls including six-fours and a six, Adam Gilchrist cracked a 46 off 55-balls included five boundaries.

Brad Hogg hammered a 15-ball 40-runs including 3-fours and 3-sixes with striking rate of 266.66, Brad Hodge scored 29 and Shane Watson 18 not out.

Scotland best bowler by Majid Haq takes two-wickets, Paul Hoffman, Glenn Rogers, Craig Wright and Dougie Brown each took one-wickets.

Scotland bundled out for 131 for all-out in 40.1 overs with top scorer by Colin Smith struck 51 off 76-balls including seven boundaries, Dougie Brown scored 19 and Majid Haq 16.

Australia best bowler by Glenn McGrath picked up 3-wickets for 14-runs in 6-overs, Shaun Tait takes two-wickets, Brad Hodge and Brad Haddin each took one-wickets.
