Sajid Mahmood, James Anderson's combined 5-wickets and Monty Panesar's three-for gives England hard-fought four-wicket victory over upsetter Bangladeh in a low-scoring game of the 38th match of a Cricket World Cup.
* England have won what neither India nor South Africa could manage: they have beaten upsetter Bangladesh Team. That they managed it with more than five overs spares belies the mess their batsmen got themselves into in chasing a mere 144.
Bangladesh scored modest total of 143 for all-out in 37.2 overs with top scorer by Shakib Al Hasan scored a unbeaten 57 off consuming 95-balls including six-fours & a six and Abdur Razzak 15.
England best bowler by Monty Panesar, Sajid Mahmood both picked up 3-wickets, James Anderson took two-wickets and one for Andrew Flintoff.
England chased 147-6 in 44.5 overs with top scorer by Michael Vaughan struck 30 off 59-balls including 3-fours, Andrew Flintoff, Andrew Strauss, Paul Collingwood each scored 23-runs and Paul Nixon 20 not out.
Bangladesh best bowler by Syed Rasel, Abdur Razzak and Mohammad Rafique each took two-wickets.
Sajid Mahmood named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling attack to picking up 3-wickets for 27-runs in 8.2 overs.
