Albie Morkel and Shaun Pollock stars as South Africa registered their historic first T20I win against England by a hard-fought 19-runs in the 15th match of a World Twenty20.
* South African bowlers inspired by an exemplary spell from Shaun Pollock and lifted by the controversial run-out of Kevin Pietersen, throttled England's overawed batsmen under the floodlights to clinch a vital victory in their opening Group E encounter at Newlands.
South Africa scored 154-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Albie Morkel 43, Mark Boucher cracked a run-a-ball 29-runs included 3-fours, Justin Kemp scored 21 off 27 deliveries with a six.
Graeme Smith struck 19 off 13-balls included four boundaries and AB de Villiers cracked a 18 off 14-balls with 4-fours.
England best bowler by Stuart Broad picked up 3-wickets, Andrew Flintoff takes two-wickets, James Anderson, Dimitri Mascarenhas and Chris Schofield each took one-wickets.
England scored 135-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Owais Shah struck 36 off 31-balls including 2-sixes and a four, Matt Prior scored 32, Andrew Flintoff 17, Kevin Pietersen and Dimitri Mascarenhas both scored 15-runs.
South Africa best bowler by Albie Morkel, Shaun Pollock both took two-wickets and one for Morne Morkel - Johan van der wath.
Albie Morkel named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 12-runs in 2-overs after scoring a rapid 43 off 20-ball including 4-sixes and 3-fours with strike rate of 215.
