Sensational Umar Gul's record-breaking 5 for 6 sets up to Pakistan comfortable six-wicket victory over New Zealand and stay alive their campaign in a one-sided historic game of the 18th match of a World Twenty20.

  • Umar Gul's 5 for 6 was the best bowling figures in T20 international cricket history and also in World Twenty20.
  • Umar Gul became the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in T20 international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 4 for 7 held by Mark Gillespie against Kenya at Durban in 2007.
  • New Zealand's 99 was the fifth lowest score in World Twenty20 and their worst total in T20 internationals.

New Zealand scored 99 for all-out in 18.3 overs with top scorer by Scott Styris struck 22 off 29-balls including a six, Aaron Redmond 15 and Brendon McCullum 12.

Pakistan best bowler by Umar Gul 5-6, Abdul Razzaq took 2-wickets and one for Shahid Afridi - Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan chased 100-4 in 13.1 overs with top scorer by debutant Shahzaib Hasan - who scored 35 off 28-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes.

Shahid Afridi blasted a unbeaten 29 off 18-balls included 3-fours with strike-rate of 161.11 and Kamran Akmal 19.

New Zealand best bowler by Daniel Vettori took 2-wickets and one for Kyle Mills.

Umar Gul named player of the match for his sensational record-breaking bowling performance to claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 6-runs in 3-overs.
