A breathtaking display from Alex Hales' record-breaking century led to England crushing six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, despite a Mahela Jayawardene's masterclass 89 and keep alive the campaign in a high-voltage game of the World Twenty20.
* Alex Hales hammered a 60-ball ninth fastest century in T20 international and became the first England batsman to score 100 in T20Is, Alex Hales had scored England's previous highest 99 against West Indies in 2012.
* Alex Hales became the fifth batsman to score a hundred in World Twenty20 after Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Mahela Jayawardene.
* Alex Hales 116 was the joint fifth highest-scorer in T20 internationals and it is the third-highest scorer in World Twenty20 after Brendon McCullum 123 and Chris Gayle 117.
