Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal's combined 5-wickets before Half-centuries from Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik guided Pakistan thrilling six-wicket victory over India and take a 1-0 lead in a high-voltage game of the first T20I.

  • Pakistan chased 134 was their sixth lowest successful run-chase in T20 internationals.
  • Pakistan's five-wicket win was their first in Twenty20 internationals against India. In three previous matches they'd tied one and lost two.
  • 106 : Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for Pakistan in T20 international, previously held by the 101-run stand between Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik against Sri Lanka at Johannesburg in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 3 for 9 was the joint most economical debut performance in T20 internationals (among bowlers who've bowled four overs), jointly with West Indies' Garey Mathurin against England at The Oval in the last year.
  • India's 133 was their second lowest score against Pakistan in T20 internationals.
  • 77 : Gautam Gambhir and Ajinkya Rahane set up the record first-wicket partnership for India against Pakistan in T20 international, previously held by the 25-run stand between Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan at Johannesburg in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 final and India's joint second highest opening stand in T20Is, jointly 77-run stand held by between Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma against Ireland at Nottingham in the 2009 World Twenty20.

India were 90-2 to scored 133-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Gautam Gambhir struck 43 off 41-balls including 2-fours & a six and Ajinkya Rahane blasted a 42 off 31-balls including 5-fours & a six.

Pakistan best bowler by Umar Gul picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 3-overs, Saeed Ajmal took 2-wickets and one for Mohammad Irfan - Shahid Afridi.

Pakistan 12-3 to chased 134-5 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Mohammad Hafeez 61, Shoaib Malik cracked a unbeaten 57 off 50-balls including 3-sixes and 3-fours.

India best bowler by debutant Bhuvneshwar Kumar - who picked up 3-wickets for 9-runs in 4-overs on his debut T20I match, Ashok Dinda and Ishant Sharma both took one-wickets.

Mohammad Hafeez named player of the match for his match-winning quick-fire 61-runs knocked off facing 44-balls including 6-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 138.63.
