Dale Steyn holds nerve as South Africa dramatic 2-run victory over New Zealand, despite a Kane Williamson - Ross Taylor's fighting half-centuries in a high-voltage game of the 18th match of a World Twenty20.

Match Stats : 
  • South Africa's 2-run win was their joint third smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and It is their second narrowest win against New Zealand in T20Is after their 1-run win at Lord's in the 2009 World Twenty20.
  • Dale Steyn's 4 for 17 was his second best bowling figures for South Africa in T20 international, it is South Africa's second best figures in World Twenty20 and South Africa's best figures against New Zealand in T20Is.
  • Dale Steyn bowled 16 dot balls in this match, equalling the second-highest number of dots most he has bowled in a T20I. He bowled 18 against Zimbabwe in the 2012 World T20. Charl Langeveldt's 19 dot-balls against Afghanistan in the 2010 World T20 are the most by a South African.
  • JP Duminy's unbeaten 86 was his second-highest score in T20Is and also the second-highest by a No. 5 batsman. Joe Root's unbeaten 90 against Australia in 2013 is the highest.
  • Ross Taylor equalled a 26-ball joint-fifth-fastest fifty for New Zealand in T20 internationals, jointly 26-ball half-century held by Jacob Oram, Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro and the fastest fifty by an New Zealand batsman against South Africa in T20Is.

South Africa scored 170-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by JP Duminy hammered a unbeaten 86 off 43-balls, Hashim Amla struck 41 off 40-balls including 2-fours, Faf du Plessis and Albie Morkel both scored 13-runs off 8-balls.

New Zealand best bowler by Corey Anderson, Tim Southee both took two-wickets and one for Nathan McCullum - Kyle Mills.

New Zealand scored 168-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Ross Taylor blasted a 62 off 37-balls including 4-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 167.56.

Kane Williamson cracked a 51 off 35-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike-rate of 145.71 and Martin Guptill 22.

South Africa best bowler by Dale Steyn claimed 4-wicket haul for 17-runs in 4-overs, Imran Tahir takes two-wickets and one for Albie Morkel.

JP Duminy named player of the match for his unbeaten quick-fire 86-runs knocked off facing 43-balls including 10-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 200.
