England captain Andrew Strauss produced a match-saving record-breaking 158-runs knocked off facing 145-balls including 18-fours and a six but failed to chase and match end to a remarkable tie against India in the 11th match of a World Cup.
* Andrew Strauss' 158 was the joint second highest for England in One-day international, jointly 158 held by David Gower against New Zealand at Brisbane in 1983, It is the highest score by an England batsman against India in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 137 held by Dennis Amiss at Lord's in the inaugural match of the 1975 World Cup and the highest-score by an England batsman in World Cup, surpassing the Dennis Amiss's 137.
Andrew Strauss who slammed his 6th One-day international century - which was his first century against India and also his 1st ODI hundred in World Cups and his 100 came from 99-balls.
