Daryll Cullinan's brilliant century and Hansie Cronje's fifty before Brian McMillan and Allan Donald's combined 5-wickets helped to South Africa scuttled 27-run victory over India, despite a 126-run opening stand between Sachin Tendulkar - Sourav Ganguly and fighting knock from Mohammad Azharuddin's 56 in the fourth match of a Titan Cup triangular tournament.

Match Stats : 
  • 126 : Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar set up the tenth highest first-wicket partnership for India in One-day international and India's second highest opening stand against South Africa in ODIs.
  • 113 : Daryll Cullinan and Hansie Cronje set up the record third-wicket partnership for South Africa against India in One-day international, previously held by the unbeaten 105-run stand between Gary Kirsten and Adrian Kulper at New Delhi in 1991 and South Africa's third highest third-wicket stand in ODIs.

South Africa scored 249-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Daryll Cullinan 106 - which was his 3rd ODI hundred.

Hansie Cronje struck 58 off 73-balls including 4-fours, Gary Kirsten scored 29 off 32-balls included 5-fours and Brian McMillan 19 not out.

India best bowler by Ajay Jadeja, Anil Kumble both took 2-wickets and one for Sunil Joshi - Venkatesh Prasad.

India scored 222-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sachin Tendulkar struck 64 off 93-balls including including 3-fours.

Mohammad Azharuddin cracked a unbeaten 56 off 60-balls including 5-fours and Sourav Ganguly scored 54 off consuming 104-balls including 3-fours.

South Africa best bowler by Brian McMillan picked up 3-wickets for 32-runs in 9-overs including a maiden, Allan Donald took 2-wickets and one for Fannie de Villiers - Pat Symcox.

Daryll Cullinan named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 106-runs knocked off facing 130-balls including 10-fours.
