Sam Curran's maiden five-for and David Willey's four-for before Half-centuries from Jason Roy, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan led to England emphatic eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka and took an unassailable 2-0 lead to seal the series in the second ODI.

  • Sam Curran's 5 for 48 was his best bowling performance for England in One-day International and the fifth best-bowling-figures by an England bowler against Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • 140* : Joe Root and Eoin Morgan set up the record third-wicket partnership for England against Sri Lanka in One-day International, previously held by the 118-run stand between Kim Barnett and Allan Lamb at same venue in 1988 and England's fifth highest any-wicket stand against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Sri Lanka 21-4 to scored 241-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Dhananjaya de Silva cracked a run-a-ball 91-runs - who fell nine-run short of his century - including 13-fours.

Dasun Shanaka scored 47 off 67-balls including 2-fours & a six, Wanindu Hasaranga 26, Chamika Karunaratne 21 and Binura Fernando 17.

England best bowler by Sam Curran 5-48 and David Willey claimed a 4-wickets for 64-runs in 10-overs included a maiden.

England chased 244-2 in 43 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan cracked a unbeaten 75 off 83-balls including 8-fours & a six.

Joe Root scored a unbeaten 68 off 87-balls including 5-fours, Jason Roy hammered a 60 off 52-balls included 10-fours and Jonny Bairstow hit 29 off 36-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga both took one-wickets.

Sam Curran named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 48-runs in 10-overs including a maiden.
