West Indies' star batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul produced a sensational fighting batting performance to scored a unbeaten 149-runs knocked off 136-balls including 16-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 109.55, but failed to chase 14-run short of victory and West Indies managed the 324 for 8 in the allotted 50-overs, Reply of India's 338 in the first One-day international.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul's 149* was his second highest score for West Indies in One-day international and the joint second highest-score by an West Indies batsman against India in ODIs, jointly with Viv Richards' 149 at Jamshedpur in 1983.
