  • 74 : Gordon Greenidge and Viv Richards set up the sixth highest any-wicket partnership for West Indies in One-day internationals.
  • Barry Wood became the first England opener to fall for a first-ball duck in One-day international and overall the ninth third player in ODIs after Graeme Watson and Majid Khan.
  • Graham Barlow became the third England batsman to score a fifty against West Indies in One-day internationals after Mike Denness and Keith Fletcher.
  • Andy Roberts's 4 for 32 was the third best bowling figures for West Indies in One-day international and the best bowling figures by an West Indies bowler against England in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 2 for 22 held by Maurice Foster at The Oval in 1973.

England scored 202-8 in 55 overs with top scorer by Debutant Graham Barlow - who scored a unbeaten 80 off 139-balls on his debut ODI match - including 8-fours.

Dennis Amiss scored 34 off 55-balls including 3-fours, Debutant Graham Gooch - who scored 32 off 69-balls on his debut ODI match - included 4-fours and Alan Knott 16.

West Indies best bowler by Andy Roberts claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 32-runs in 11-overs, Debutant Michael Holding - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match and Bernard Julien took 1-wicket.

West Indies chased 207-4 in 41 overs with top scorer by Viv Richards 119 not out - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Gordon Greenidge struck 27 off 36-balls including 3-fours & a six and Clive Lloyd hit 20 off 27-balls included three-fours & a six.

England best bowler by Debutant Ian Botham - who took one-wicket on his debut ODI match, Barry Wood, Derek Underwood and Mike Hendrick each took one-wickets.

Viv Richards named Player of the match for his match-winning masterclass unbeaten 119-runs knocked off facing 133-balls including 20-fours and a six.
