Ibrahim Zadran's historic century, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah's fifties and Najibullah Zadran's rapid 42 before Fazalhaq Farooqi's four-for and Gulbadin Naib's three-for helped to Afghanistan registered their famous 60-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite a Wanindu Hasaranga's all-round display and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

Afghanistan's 294 was their sixth highest score in One-day international and It is their highest total against Sri Lanka in ODIs, previous highest was 249 at Abu Dhabi in 2018. 84 : Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set up the record first-wicket partnership for Afghanistan against Sri Lanka in One-day international, previously held by the 57-run stand between Mohammad Shahzad and Ihsanullah at Abu Dhabi in 2018 and the Afghanistan's tenth highest opening stand in ODIs. 118 : Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah set up the record second-wicket partnership for Afghanistan against Sri Lanka in One-day international, previously held by the 50-run stand between Ihsanullah and Rahmat Shah at Abu Dhabi in 2018 and the Afghanistan's eighth highest second-wicket stand in ODIs. Sri Lanka's 234 was their third lowest score against Afghanistan in ODIs.

Afghanistan scored 294-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ibrahim Zadran struck 106 off 120-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred & his first century against Sri Lanka in ODIs,

Rahmanullah Gurbaz cracked a 53 off 55-balls including 9-fours, Rahmat Shah scored 52 off 64-balls including two boundaries.

Najibullah Zadran hammered a 42 off 25-balls including 5-fours & a six and Gulbadin Naib scored 22 off 24-balls included 2-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga took 2-wickets, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Lahiru Kumara, Kasun Rajitha and Maheesh Theekshana each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka scored 234 for all-out in 38 overs with top scorer by Pathum Nissanka struck 85 off 83-balls including 10-fours.

Wanindu Hasaranga hammered a 66 off 46-balls including 10-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 143.47, Dhananjaya de Silva 16 and Dasun Shanaka 16.

Afghanistan best bowler by Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 49-runs in 9-overs, Gulbadin Naib picked up 3-wickets for 34-runs in 8-overs, Yamin Ahmadzai took 2-wickets and one for Rashid Khan.

Ibrahim Zadran named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 106-runs knocked off facing 120-balls including 11-fours.
