Najmul Hossain Shanto's twin centuries and Mominul Haque's unbeaten century sets up to Bangladesh's record-breaking 546-run victory over inexperienced Afghanistan in a one-sided game of the one-off Test match.

  • Bangladesh's 546-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs in Test cricket history, previous biggest win by 226-runs against Zimbabwe at Chattogram in 2005 and the third biggest victory by margin of runs in Test cricket after England's 675-run win against Australia at Brisbane in 1928 and Australia's 562-run win against England at The Oval in 1934.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a century against Afghanistan in Test cricket history.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto's 146 was his second highest score for Bangladesh in Test matches and the highest-score by an Bangladesh batsman against Afghanistan in Tests.
  • 212 : Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hossain Shanto set up the record second-wicket partnership for Bangladesh against Afghanistan in Test matches, previously held by the 38-run stand between Soumya Sarkar and Litton Das at Chattogram in 2019 and the Bangladesh's second highest second-wicket stand in Tests.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto became the second Bangladesh batsman to score centuries in both innings in an Test match after Mominul Haque's both innings hundreds against Sri Lanka at Chattogram in 2018.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto became the third player to score centuries in both innings in an Test match at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur after Kieran Powell and Brendan Taylor.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto became the second Bangladesh batsman to score centuries in both innings at No.3 in an Test match after Mominul Haque and overall the 16th player in Test cricket.

* Najmul Hossain Shanto's attacking 146, Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy's half-century, Middle-order batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz's unbeaten forties laid the foundation for Bangladesh against Afghanistan in the opening day of the one-off Test match.
 
* Bowlers and Ebadot Hossain's four-for as Afghanistan collapse for 146 before An unbeaten fifties from Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto lead to Bangladesh into commanding position on a 16-wicket day two of the one-off Test match.

* Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque's centuries helped to Bangladesh set up mammoth target of 662 before Afghanistan openers lost early and their captain Hashmatullah Shahidi struck on the helmet and retired hurt for 13 on the day three of the one-off Test match.



Bangladesh 1st Innings scored 382 for all-out in 86 overs with top scorer by Najmul Hossain Shanto hammered a 146 off 175-balls - which was his 3rd Test hundred & his first century against Afghanistan in Tests - including 23-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 83.42.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy struck 76 off 137-balls including 9-fours, Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit 48 off 80-balls included 8-fours.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 47 off 76-balls including 4-fours and Mominul Haque 15.

1st Innings Afghanistan best bowler by Debutant Nijat Masood - who claimed a 5-wicket haul on his debut Test match, Yamin Ahmadzai took 2-wickets, Rahmat Shah, Amir Hamza and Zahir Khan each took one-wickets.

Afghanistan 1st Innings scored 146 for all-out in 39 overs with top scorer by Afsar Zazai cracked a 36 off 40-balls including 6-fours.

Nasir Jamal struck 35 off 43-balls including 6-fours, Debutant Karim Janat who scored 23-runs on his debut Test match and Abdul Malik 17.

1st Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Ebadot Hossain claimed a 4-wickets for 47-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shoriful Islam each took 2-wickets.

Bangladesh 2nd Innings scored 425-4 for declared in 80 overs with top scorer by Najmul Hossain Shanto blasted a 124 off 151-balls - which was his 4th Test hundred & his second century against Afghanistan in Tests - including 15-fours with strike rate of 82.11.

Mominul Haque cracked a unbeaten 121 off 145-balls including 12-fours & a six with strike rate of 83.44, Zakir Hasan hit 71 off 95-balls included 8-fours.

Litton Das blasted a unbeaten 66 off 81-balls including 8-fours and Mahmudul Hasan Joy hit 17 off 13-balls included 4-fours.

2nd Innings Afghanistan best bowler by Zahir Khan took 2-wickets and one for Amir Hamza.

Afghanistan 2nd Innings scored 115 for all-out in 33 overs with top scorer by Rahmat Shah hit 30 off 73-balls including 2-fours

Karim Janat scored a run-a-ball 18-runs including 2-sixes and Hashmatullah Shahidi retired hurt for 13.

2nd Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Taskin Ahmed claimed a 4-wickets for 37-runs in 9-overs including two maidens, Shoriful Islam picked up 3-wickets for 28-runs in 10-overs included a maiden, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain both took one-wickets.

Najmul Hossain Shanto named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to hit twin centuries in an match.
