Sri Lanka scored 115 for all-out in 38.1 overs with top scorer by Sidath Wettimuny cracked a 33 off 62-balls including 2-fours. Somachandra De Silva 14 not out and Arjuna Ranatunga 13.
New Zealand best bowler by Richard Hadlee picked up 3-wickets for 19-runs in 6-overs, Ewen Chatfield, Lance Cairns both took 2-wickets and one for Stephen Boock - Jeremy Coney.
Lance Cairns named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 14-runs in 7-overs including two maidens after smashing a whirlwind unbeaten 40 off 26-balls included 4-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 153.84.
