Graham Dilley's career-best 4 for 23, John Emburey and Phil DeFreitas' combined 5-wickets sets up England comfortable six-wicket victory over West Indies in a low-scoring game of the opening match of a Benson and Hedges World Series Cup.


West Indies bundled out for 154 in 46.3 overs with top scorer by Desmond Haynes hit 48 off 75-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Gus Logie scored 46 off 78-balls including 4-fours and Jeff Dujon hit 22 off 36-balls included 3-fours.

England best bowler by Graham Dilley 4-23, John Emburey picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 9-overs, Phil DeFreitas took 2-wickets and one for Gladstone Small.

England chased 156-4 in 43.1 overs with top scorer by Chris Broad scored 49 off consuming 113-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 3-fours & a six.

David Gower cracked a run-a-ball 42-runs including 6-fours, Allan Lamb scored 22 off 36-balls included a boundary and Ian Botham 14 not out.

Graham Dilley named Player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 23-runs in 8.3-overs including a maiden.
