A whirlwind Innings from opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 57-ball 80, Ikram Alikhil's brilliant half-century and Mujeeb Ur Rahman's all-round display sets up to Afghanistan registered their historic first ODI win against defending champions England by a stunning 69-runs in the 13th match of a Cricket World Cup.

This is the Afghanistan's second win in the ODI World Cup in their 18th attempts. Afghanistan's 284 was their highest score against England in One-day international, previous highest was 247 at Manchester in the 2019 World Cup and It is their second highest total in the ODI World Cup after their 288 against West Indies at Leeds in the 2019 World Cup. 114 : Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set up the record first-wicket partnership for Afghanistan against England in One-day international, previously held by the 17-run stand between Javed Ahmadi and Nawroz Mangal at Sydney in the 2015 World Cup, It is the Afghanistan's seventh highest opening stand in ODIs and the Afghanistan's third highest any-wicket stand in the ODI World Cup. England's 215 was their lowest score against Afghanistan in ODIs, previously they had scored 397 at Manchester in the 2019 World Cup.

Afghanistan scored 284 for all-out in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Rahmanullah Gurbaz hammered a 80 off 57-balls including 8-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 140.35.

Ikram Alikhil struck 58 off 66-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes, Mujeeb Ur Rahman blasted a 28 off 16-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 175.

Ibrahim Zadran scored 28 off 43-balls including 3-fours, Rashid Khan hit 23 off 22-balls included three-fours and Azmatullah Omarzai 19.

England best bowler by Adil Rashid picked up 3-wickets for 42-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Mark Wood captured two wickets, Joe Root, Liam Livingstone and Reece Topley each took one-wickets.

England scored 215 for all-out in 40.3 overs with top scorer by Harry Brook hammered a 66 off 61-balls including 7-fours & a six.

Dawid Malan scored 32 off 39-balls including 4-fours, Adil Rashid hit 20 off 13-balls included 2-fours, Mark Wood 18 and Reece Topley 15 not out.

Afghanistan best bowler by Rashid Khan picked up 3-wickets for 37-runs in 9.3-overs, Mujeeb Ur Rahman captured three-wickets and one for Naveen-ul-Haq - Fazalhaq Farooqi.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman named Player of the match for his all-round performance to picked up 3-wickets for 51-runs in 10-overs including a maiden after scoring a quick-fire 28 off 16-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 175.
