Indian pace bowler Mohammed Shami produced a sensational record-breaking bowling performance to claimed a career-best 7-wicket haul for 57-runs against New Zealand during the first Semi-final match of a Cricket World Cup.
* Mohammed Shami's 7 for 57 was his fifth 5-wicket haul or more wickets for India in One-day international and the most five-wicket haul or more wickets by any bowler in the ODI World Cup history, surpassing the previous record of four five-wicket hauls by Mitchell Starc.
* Mohammed Shami's 7 for 57 was the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 6 for 4 held by Stuart Binny against Bangladesh at Mirpur in 2014 and the fifth best-bowling-figures in the ODI World Cup.
* Mohammed Shami became the first Indian bowler to take a seven-for in ODI cricket history.
