Saleem Malik's brilliant century and Javed Miandad's half-century before Saleem Jaffar and Wasim Akram's combined 5-wickets helped to Pakistan comprehensive 34-run victory over India and qualify for the finals in the third match of a Champions Trophy.

Match Stats : 
  • Saleem Malik became the fourth Pakistan batsman to score a century against India in ODIs after Zaheer Abbas (3), Mohsin Khan (1) and Javed Miandad (3).
  • Saleem Malik became the fourth Pakistan batsman to scored two centuries in ODIs after Zaheer Abbas (7), Javed Miandad (6) and Mohsin Khan (2).

Pakistan scored 246 for all-out in 49.1 overs with top scorer by Saleem Malik struck 101 off 124-balls - which was his 2nd ODI hundred and his first century against India in ODIs.

Javed Miandad struck 52 off 75-balls including 4-fours, Ijaz Ahmed scored 26 off 24-balls included 2-fours and Saleem Yousuf hit 25 off 18-balls contained one-six & a four with strike rate of 138.88.

India best bowler by Maninder Singh picked up 3-wickets, Kapil Dev took 2-wickets and one for Sanjeev Sharma.

India scored 212-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Dilip Vengsarkar cracked a 51 off 71-balls including a boundary.

Navjot Sidhu struck 38 off 58-balls including 3-fours, Ravi Shastri scored 33 off 40-balls included 2-fours, Mohammad Azharuddin 26, Kris Srikkanth 19 and Mohinder Amarnath 15.

Pakistan best bowler by Saleem Jaffar picked up 3-wickets for 37-runs in 9-overs, Wasim Akram took 2-wickets and one for Abdul Qadir.

Saleem Malik named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 101-runs knocked off facing 124-balls including 5-fours & a six.
