Openers Shoaib Mohammad, Shahid Saeed, Saleem Malik and A magnificent power-hitting performance by Wasim Akram's 23-ball 37 helped to Pakistan emphatic six-wicket victory over India, despite a brilliant maiden century by Navjot Sidhu in the third match of a Champions Trophy.

Match Stats : 
  • Navjot Sidhu became the third Indian batsman to score a century against Pakistan in ODIs after Manoj Prabhakar and Kris Srikkanth.
  • Navjot Sidhu became the 11th Indian batsman to score a century in ODIs.

India scored 273-4 in the alloted 46 overs with top scorer by Navjot Sidhu struck career-best 108 off 121-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Mohinder Amarnath cracked a 88 off 80-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes, Kris Srikkanth hit 51 off 70-balls included 4-fours and Kapil Dev scored 13 off 7-balls contained two-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Wasim Akram picked up 3-wickets for 30-runs in 9-overs and Mushtaq Ahmed took one-wicket.

Pakistan chased 274-4 in 44.4 overs with top scorer by Saleem Malik blasted a unbeaten 68 off 58-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 117.24.

Shoaib Mohammad scored 65 off 78-balls including two boundaries, Shahid Saeed hit 50 off 65-balls included one-six & a four.

Wasim Akram hammered a 37 off 23-balls including 4-sixes & a four with strike rate of 160.86, Javed Miandad scored 31 off 35-balls included 2-fours and Imran Khan 17 not out.

India best bowler by Ravi Shastri took 2-wickets and one for Arshad Ayub.

Navjot Sidhu named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best 108-runs knocked off facing 121-balls including 8-fours & a six.
