A magnificent all-round display from Captain Hero Viv Richards' valuable 44 and career-best 6 for 41 as West Indies stunning 20-run victory over India in a dramatic finish game of the eighth match of a Nehru Cup.

* West Indian master batsman and captain Vivian Richards switched roles today to claimed a career-best six wickets and send India crashing to a 20- run defeat in the Nehru Cup one-day international cricket tournament.
* Richards finished with 6/41 from 9.4 overs with his right-arm off-spinners to help dismiss the host side for 176 in 41.4 overs. He also scored 44 to earn the man-of-the-match award.
* It was the first win in three games for the West Indies in the Nehru Cup tournament and ensured they still had a fighting chance to qualify for the semi-finals.
* India, chasing 197 to win, was coasting towards victory at 5/158 in the 38th over before Richards struck. In that over he dismissed Ravi Shastri, Kapil Dev and Kiran More.
* Opener Raman Lamba's defiant knock of 61 was the only innings of note for the India after their bowlers had restricted the West Indies scoring at 196/9.
West Indies scored 196-9 in the alloted 45 overs with top scorer by Richie Richardson cracked a 57 off consuming 110-balls including four boundaries.
Viv Richards struck 44 off 42-balls including 3-fours & a six and Malcolm Marshall blasted a 27 off 23-balls included 2-sixes.
India best bowler by Chetan Sharma picked up 3-wickets for 46-runs in 9-overs, Arshad Ayub captured two-wickets, Kapil Dev, Manoj Prabhakar and Mohinder Amarnath each took one-wickets.
India scored 176 for all-out in 41.4 overs with top scorer by Raman Lamba struck 61 off 80-balls including 5-fours & a six.
Mohinder Amarnath hit 23 off 42-balls including a boundary, Ravi Shastri hit 20 off 25-balls included a six and Mohammad Azharuddin scored a run-a-ball 18-runs.
West Indies best bowler by Viv Richards claimed a career-best 6-wickets for 41-runs in 9.4-overs, Courtney Walsh took 2-wickets and one for Malcolm Marshall.
