Charith Asalanka's brilliant century and Dilshan Madushanka's double-wicket maiden over puts Sri Lanka on top before rain washed out in the opening One-day international at Colombo.

Charith Asalanka became the 12th Sri Lankan batsman to score a century against Zimbabwe in One-day internationals. Sri Lanka's 273 was their eighth highest score against Zimbabwe at their home venue in ODIs and It is their highest total against Zimbabwe at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo in ODIs, previous highest was 272 2001.

Sri Lanka scored 273-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Charith Asalanka hammered a 101 off 95-balls - which was his 3rd ODI hundred and his first century against Zimbabwe in ODIs -  including 4-sixes & 4-fours with strike rate of 106.31.

Kusal Mendis cracked a 46 off 48-balls including 6-fours, Sadeera Samarawickrama blasted a 41 off 31-balls included 8-fours with strike rate of 132.25.

Janith Liyanage scored 24 off 34-balls including a boundary and Dushmantha Chameera 18.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Richard Ngarava, Faraz Akram, Blessing Muzarabani each took 2-wickets and one for Sikandar Raza.

Zimbabwe scored 12-2 in 4-overs at when rain stopped the play - with top scorer by Dilshan Madushanka took 2-wickets for zero runs in 2-ovsrs including two maidens.
