Opener Ramiz Raja's superb century and Saleem Malik's unbeaten fifty before Waqar Younis' another five-for gives Pakistan's record 105-run victory over New Zealand and clinch the three-match series with 3-0 whitewash in a one-sided game of the third & final ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • This is the first time Pakistan have whitewashed their oppositions in a bilateral three-match series in One-day international and registered their historic first 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand in ODIs,
  • This is the second time New Zealand have suffered a clean sweep in a bilateral three-match series in One-day internationals after their 3-0 clean sweep against West Indies at their home in 1987.
  • Pakistan's 105-run win was their fourth largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their biggest win against New Zealand in ODIs, previous biggest win by 46-runs at Peshawar in 1984.
  • This is the second time Waqar Younis took two consecutive five-wicket haul in One-day internationals after his five consecutive five-for against Sri Lanka and New Zealand at Sharjah in the Austral-Asia Cup earlier in this year.
  • Waqar Younis became the first Pakistan bowler to take four five-wicket hauls in ODI cricket history and overall the second player in ODIs after Richard Hadlee's (5).
  • Ramiz Raja became the first Pakistan batsman to scored two centuries against New Zealand in ODIs.
  • Ramiz Raja became the third Pakistan batsman to scored five centuries in ODIs after Zaheer Abbas (7) and Javed Miandad (6).

Pakistan scored 223-2 in the allotted 40 overs with top scorer by Ramiz Raja struck 114 off 123-balls - which was his 5th ODI hundred and his second century against New Zealand in ODIs.

Saleem Malik hit a unbeaten 65 off 68-balls including 5-fours and Saeed Anwar scored 35 off 48-balls included 2-fours.

New Zealand best bowler by Dipak Patel took one-wicket for 44-runs in 7-overs.

New Zealand bundled out for 118 in 25 overs with top scorer by Ken Rutherford hit a run-a-ball 24-runs including 3-fours.

Dipak Patel scored 23 off 36-balls including one-six & a four and Martin Crowe hit 22 off 21-balls included 3-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Waqar Younis claimed a 5-wicket haul for 16-runs in 6-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.66, Manzoor Elahi picked up 3-wickets for 36-runs in 7-overs and Ijaz Ahmed took 2-wickets.

Ramiz Raja named Player of the match for his superb batting performance to scored a 114-runs knocked off facing 123-balls including 14-fours.
