Saleem Jaffar's economical bowling figures and a superb unbeaten 91 by Saleem Malik steers to Pakistan convincing five-wicket victory over West Indies and took an unassailable 2-0 lead to seal the series in the second ODI.

* Pakistan registered their historic first-ever bilateral ODI series win against West Indies after six series between these sides since 1977.


West Indies scored 176-7 in the allotted 39 overs with top scorer by Desmond Haynes scored 66 off 92-balls including two boundaries.

Carl Hooper hit a unbeaten 27 off 21-balls including 2-fours, Carlisle Best 19 and Jeff Dujon 14.

Pakistan best bowler by Saleem Jaffar captured two-wickets for 20-runs in 8-overs with economy rate of 2.50, Mushtaq Ahmed took 2-wickets and one for Akram Raza.

Pakistan chased 177-5 in 37.1 overs with top scorer by Saleem Malik hit a unbeaten 91 off 98-balls, Imran Khan cracked a 32 off 66-balls including 2-fours and Javed Miandad scored 23 off 30-balls included a boundary.

West Indies best bowler by Ian Bishop captured two-wickets, Curtly Ambrose, Malcolm Marshall and Ezra Moseley each took one-wickets.

Saleem Malik named Player of the match for his match-winning superb unbeaten 91 off 98-balls including 8-fours.
