Vishwa Fernando, Prabath Jayasuriya, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal guided Sri Lanka registered their historic first Test win against Afghanistan by easy 10-wickets in a one-off Test match.

The ten-wicket win is Sri Lanka's joint largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in Test matches and It is their 11th time win by ten wickets in Tests. Sri Lanka chased 56 was their 12th lowest successful run-chase in Test matches. Angelo Mathews became the first Sri Lankan batsman to score a century against Sri Lanka in Test cricket history. Dinesh Chandimal became the second Sri Lankan batsman to score a hundred against Afghanistan in Tests after Angelo Mathews earlier in this Sri Lanka's first innings. Angelo Mathews became the seventh Sri Lankan batsman to dismissed with a hit-wicket in Test matches. 232 : Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal set up fifth highest fourth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka in Test matches. 16 : Angelo Mathews equalled a joint fourth most centuries hit for Sri Lanka in Test matches, jointly with Marvan Atapattu, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Dimuth Karunaratne. 15 : Dinesh Chandimal hit the eighth most centuries hit for Sri Lanka in Test matches. Sri Lanka's 439 was their 16th highest total in their first innings at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo in Test matches. Afghanistan's 296 was their fourth highest score in Test matches. Afghanistan's 198 was their ninth lowest score in a completed innings in Test matches. Ibrahim Zadran became the first Afghanistan batsman to score a century against Sri Lanka in Test cricket history. Ibrahim Zadran became the fourth Afghanistan batsman to score a century in Test matches after Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Asghar Afgan.

Afghanistan 1st Innings scored 198 for all-out in 62.4 overs with top scorer by Rahmat Shah struck 91 off 139-balls including 13-fours.

Noor Ali Zadran cracked a 31 off 46-balls including 5-fours, Qais Ahmad scored 21 off 44-balls included one-six & a four, Ikram Alikhil hit 21 off 50-balls contained three-fours and Hashmatullah Shahidi 17.

1st Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Vishwa Fernando claimed a 4-wickets for 51-runs in 12-overs including a maiden, Asitha Fernando captured 3-wickets for 24-runs in 14.4-overs included a maiden and Prabath Jayasuriya picked up 3-wickets.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 439 for all-out in 109.2 overs with top scorer by Angelo Mathews struck 141 off 259-balls - which was his 16th Test hundred and his first century against Afghanistan in Tests.

Dinesh Chandimal cracked a 107 off 181-balls - which was his 15th Test hundred and his first century against Afghanistan in Tests - including 10-fours & a six.

Dimuth Karunaratne hammered a 77 off 72-balls including 12-fours with strike rate of 106.94, Nishan Madushka scored 37 off 53-balls included 6-fours and Sadeera Samarawickrama hit 27 off 33-balls contained 4-fours & a six and Chamika Gunasekara retired hurt for 16.

1st Innings Afghanistan best bowler by Debutant Naveed Zadran - who took 4-wickets for 83-runs in 22.5-overs on his debut Test match including four maidens, Qais Ahmad and Nijad Masood both took 2-wickets.

Afghanistan 2nd Innings scored 296 for all-out in 112.3 overs with top scorer by Ibrahim Zadran cracked a unbeaten 114 off 259-balls - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 12-fours.

Rahmat Shah struck 54 off 119-balls including 5-fours, Noor Ali Zadran scored 47 off 136-balls including 5-fours, Nasir Jamal hit a unbeaten 41 off 67-balls included 5-fours and Hashmatullah Shahidi 18.

2nd Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Prabath Jayasuriya claimed a 5-wicket haul for 107-runs in 47-overs including ten maidens, Asitha Fernando picked up 3-wickets and Kasun Rajitha took 2-wickets.

Sri Lanka chased 56-0 in 7.2 overs with top scorer by Dimuth Karunaratne blasted a unbeaten 32 off 22-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 145.45.

Nishan Madushka hit a unbeaten 22 off 23-balls included 4-fours.

Prabath Jayasuriya earned player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance to took 8-wickets in an match.
