Economical bowling figures from Tanzim Hasan Sakib's career-best 4 for 7, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan's combined 5-wickets gives Bangladesh comfortable 21-run victory over Nepal and storm into the Super Eights in a low-scoring game of the 37th match of a T20 World Cup.

  • Bangladesh's total of 106 is the lowest that they have successfully defended in T20 internationals, eclipsing their previous lowest of 116 against Malaysia at Hangzhou in the last year and the lowest total defended by any team in a full 20-over game in T20 World Cups, The previous lowest was 113 for 6 by Sat against Bangladesh at New York earlier in this year.
  • Bangladesh's 106 was the second lowest score by a full-member team against an associate team in T20 World Cups after England's 88 against Netherlands at Chattogram in the 2014 World T20 edition and the fifth lowest total by a full-member team in T20 World Cups.
  • Tanzim Hasan Sakib bowled by 21 dot balls - the most dot balls bowled by a bowler in a T20 World Cup game, surpassing the previous record of 20 dots balls jointly bowled by Kemar Roach against Ireland at Providence in 2010, Ajantha Mendis' 20 dots balls against Zimbabwe at Hambantota in 2012 and Ottneil Baartman against Sri Lanka at New York earlier in this tournament.
  • Nepal's 85 was their joint fifth lowest score in a completed innings in T20 international, It is their worst-total against Bangladesh in T20Is, previously they have scored 126 at Chattogram in the 2014 World T20 and It is their lowest total in T20 World Cups, previous lowest was 106 against Netherlands at Dallas earlier in this tournament.
  • This is the second time Nepal have failed to chase down a target below 110 in a full 20-over game. The previous lowest target they could not chase in a T20I was 102 against Kenya at Nairobi (Gym) in 2022.

Bangladesh scored respectable total of 106 for all-out in 19.3 overs with top scorer by Shakib Al Hasan scored 17 off 22-balls including two boundaries.

Rishad Hossain hit 13 off 7-balls including one-six & a four with strike rate of 185.71, Mahmudullah scored a run-a-ball 13-runs including 2-fours and Taskin Ahmed hit a unbeaten 12 off 15-balls with 2-fours.

Nepal best bowler by Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee each took 2-wickets.

Nepal bundled out for 85 in 19.2 overs with top scorer by Kushal Malla scored 27 off consuming 40-balls including one-six & a four.

Dipendra Singh Airee hit 25 off 31-balls including 2-fours & a six and Aasif Sheikh struck 17 off 14-balls included 4-fours with strike rate of 121.42.

Bangladesh best bowler by Tanzim Hasan Sakib 4-7, Mustafizur Rahman picked up 3-wickets for 7-runs in 4-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 1.75, Shakib Al Hasan captured two-wickets for 9-runs in 2.2-overs and Taskin Ahmed took one-wicket.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib named Player of the match for his brilliant economical bowling performance to claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 7-runs in 4-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 1.75.
