End of an Era - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retires from T20Is

* Virat Kohli retires from T20 internationals after India winning T20 World Cup trophy, Kohli announced after being named the Player of the Match in the T20 World Cup final.

* Title-winning captain Rohit Sharma confirmed retirement from T20 internationals, The Indian skipper will be stepping down from the T20I format after India's T20 World Cup 2024 victory in Barbados.

" This was my last game as well," the captain Rohit Sharma said in his post-match press conference, referring to Virat Kohli's earlier announcement that he will be retiring from T20Is.



India scored respectable total of 176-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 76 off 59-balls, Axar Patel hammered a 47 off 31-balls including 4-sixes & a four with strike rate of 151.61.

Shivam Dube blasted a 27 off 16-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 168.75, Rohit Sharma hit 9 off 5-balls contained 2-fours.

South Africa best bowler by Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje both took 2-wickets and one for Kagiso Rabada - Marco Jansen.

South Africa scored 169-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Heinrich Klaasen hammered a 52 off 27-balls including 5-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 192.59.

Quinton de Kock cracked a 39 off 31-balls including 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 125.80, Tristan Stubbs blasted a 31 off 21-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 147.61 and David Miller hit 21 off 17-balls with one-six & a four.

India best bowler by Hardik Pandya picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 3-overs, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh both took 2-wickets and one for Axar Patel.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his masterful 76 off facing 59-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 128.81.

Jasprit Bumrah earned player of the tournament for claiming 15-wickets with economy rate of 4.17.
