Nicholas Pooran's power-hitting 26-ball 65*, Shai Hope's superb half-century and Alick Athanaze's 40 leads to West Indies crushing seventh-wicket victory over South Africa, despite a Tristan Stubbs' resilient 76 and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

Nicholas Pooran equalled a joint fourth fastest fifty for West Indies in T20 international, jointly with Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles and Rovman Powell and the joint second fastest fifty by an West Indies batsman against South Africa in T20Is, jointly with Chris Gayle and Johnson Charles. 84 : Alick Athanaze and Shai Hope set up the fourth highest first-wicket partnership for West Indies against South Africa in T20 international and It is their 11th highest opening stand in T20Is. 54 : Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran set up the fourth highest second-wicket partnership for West Indies against South Africa in T20Is. South Africa scored 174-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Tristan Stubbs hammered a 76 off 42-balls including 8-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 180.95.

Patrick Kruger blasted a 44 off 32-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 137.50, Aiden Markram hit 14 off 10-balls included 2-fours & a six and Bjorn Fortuin scored 11 off 8-balls contained 2-fours.

West Indies best bowler by Matthew Forde picked up 3-wickets for 27-runs in 4-overs, Shamar Joseph took 2-wickets and one for Akeal Hosein - Romario Shepherd.

West Indies chased 176-3 in 17.5 overs with top scorer by Nicholas Pooran hammered a 65 off 26-balls, Shai Hope blasted a 51 off 36-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 141.66.

Alick Athanaze hit 40 off 30-balls including 3-sixes & 2-tours with strike rate of 133.33 and Rovman Powell scored 7 off 15-balls without a boundary.

South Africa best bowler by Ottneil Baartman took 2-wickets and one for Kwena Maphaka.

Nicholas Pooran named Player of the match for his match-winning power-hitting batting performance to smashed a unbeaten 65 off facing 26-balls including 7-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 250.
