Blazing innings from Alick Athanaze, Shai Hope, Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford before Romario Shepherd's 3 for 15, Shamar Joseph and Akeal Hosein's combined 5-wickets helped to West Indies' record 30-run victory over South Africa, despite a Reeza Hendricks' blitz and took an unassailable 2-0 lead to seal the series in the second T20I.

  • West Indies' 30-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against South Africa in T20 internationals, previous biggest win by 28-runs at Kingston earlier in this year.
  • West Indies' 179 was their sixth highest score against South Africa in T20 international and It is their second highest total at Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad in Tests after their 192 against England in the last year.
  • South Africa' 149 was their sixth lowest score in a completed innings against West Indies in T20Is.

West Indies scored 179-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Shai Hope hammered a 41 off 22-balls including 4-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 186.36.

Rovman Powell blasted a 35 off 22-balls including 3-sixes & a four with strike rate of 159.09, Sherfane Rutherford hammered a 29 off 18-balls with strike rate of 161.11.

Alick Athanaze hit 28 off 21-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 133.33 and Nicholas Pooran scored a run-a-ball 19-runs included a boundary.

South Africa best bowler by Lizaad Williams picked up 3-wickets for 36-runs in 4-overs, Patrick Kruger took 2-wickets and one for Ottneil Baartman.

South Africa scored 149 for all-out in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Reeza Hendricks hammered a 44 off 18-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 244.44.

Tristan Stubbs struck 28 off 24-balls including one-six & a four, Ryan Rickelton hit 20 off 13-balls included 2-sixes with strike rate of  153.84 and Rassie van der Dussen scored 17 off 24-balls without a boundary.

West Indies best bowler by Romario Shepherd captured three-wickets, Shamar Joseph picked up 3-wickets for 31-runs in 4-overs, Akeal Hosein took 2-wickets and one for Gudakesh Motie - Matthew Forde.

Romario Shepherd named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to picked up 3-wickets for 15-runs in 4-overs with economy rate of 3.75.
