Kamindu Mendis and Prabath Jayasuriya stars as Sri Lanka narrow 63-run victory over New Zealand, despite a Rachin Ravindra's fighting 92 in the second innings and take a 1-0 lead in the first Test match.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 305 for all-out in 91.5 overs with top scorer by Kamindu Mendis blasted a 114 off 173-balls - which was his 4th Test hundred and his first century against New Zealand in Tests - including 11-fours with strike rate of 65.89.

Kusal Mendis struck 50 off 68-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 73.52, Angelo Mathews scored 36 off 116-balls included three boundaries.

Dinesh Chandimal cracked a 30 off 71-balls including 3-fours, Pathum Nissanka hit 27 off 25-balls included 5-fours and Ramesh Mendis scored 14 off 49-balls with 2-fours.

1st Innings New Zealand best bowler by William O’Rourke claimed a 5-wickets for 55-runs in 18.5-overs including four maidens, Glenn Phillips, Ajaz Patel both took 2-wickets and one for Tim Southee.

New Zealand 1st Innings scored 340 for all-out in 90.5 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham struck 70 off 111-balls including 6-fours.

Daryl Mitchell hit 57 off 86-balls including 7-fours & a six with strike rate of 66.27, Kane Williamson cracked a 55 off 104-balls including 4-fours & a six, 

Glenn Phillips blasted a unbeaten 49 off 48-balls including 5-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 102.08, Rachin Ravindra hammered a 39 off 48-balls included 4-fours with strike rate of 81.25, Tom Blundell scored 25 off 65-balls included one-six & a four and Devon Conway scored 17 off 59-balls with a four.

1st Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Prabath Jayasuriya claimed a 4-wickets for 136-runs in 40-overs including five maidens, Ramesh Mendis picked up 3-wickets and Dhananjaya de Silva took 2-wickets

Sri Lanka 2nd Innings scored 309 for all-out in 94.2 overs with top scorer by Dimuth Karunaratne cracked a 83 off 127-balls including 6-fours.

Dinesh Chandimal scored 61 off 150-balls including six boundaries, Angelo Mathews scored 50 off 111-balls included five boundaries, 

Dhananjaya de Silva hit 34 off 77-balls including 4-fours and Kusal Mendis cracked a 23 off 30-balls contained three-fours.

2nd Innings New Zealand best bowler by Ajaz Patel claimed a 6-wickets for 90-runs in 30-overs including eight maidens, William O’Rourke picked up 3-wickets for 49-runs in 17-overs included two maidens Mitchell Santner took one-wicket.

New Zealand 2nd Innings scored 211 for all-out in 71.4 with top scorer by Rachin Ravindra hit 92 off 168-balls - who fell eight-run short of his century - including 9-fours & a six.

Tom Blundell struck 30 off 43-balls including 4-fours, Kane Williamson cracked a 30 off 46-balls included 3-fours & a six and Tom Latham scored 28 off 68-balls contained 2-fours.

2nd Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Prabath Jayasuriya claimed a 5-wickets 68-runs, Ramesh Mendis captured three-wickets and one for Asitha Fernando - Dhananjaya de Silva.

Prabath Jayasuriya named Player of the match for his brilliant spin bowling performance to took 9-wickets in an match.
