  • Sri Lanka's innings & 154-run win was their largest victory by terms of innings and runs against New Zealand in Test matches, previous win by innings & 16-runs at same venue in 1998.
  • This is the 20th time Sri Lanka have whitewashed their oppositions in a bilateral two-match series in Test matches and It is their second against New Zealand in Tests after they have won 2-0 against New Zealand in 2009.
  • This is the 14th time New Zealand have suffered a clean sweep in a bilateral two-match series in Tests.
  • 13 innings : Kamindu Mendis equalled a joint third fastest batsman to reach 1000 Test runs in terms of Innings, jointly 13 innings took by Don Bradman. Everton Weekes and Herbert Sutcliffe both got there in 12 Test innings to reach 1000 runs.

Sri Lanka 1st Innings scored 602-5 for declared in 163.4 overs with top scorer by Kamindu Mendis hammered a unbeaten 182 off 250-balls - which was his 5th Test hundred and his second century against New Zealand in Tests - including 16-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 72.80.

Kusal Mendis blasted a unbeaten 106 off 149-balls - which was his 10th Test hundred and his second century against New Zealand in Tests - including 6-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 71.14.

Dinesh Chandimal cracked a 116 off 208-balls - which was his 16th Test hundred and his first century against New Zealand in Tests - including 15-fours.

Angelo Mathews hit 88 off 185-balls including 7-fours, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 46 off 109-balls contained 4-fours and Dhananjaya de Silva cracked a 44 off 80-balls contained 6-fours & 3-sixes.

1st Innings New Zealand best bowler by Glenn Phillips picked up 3-wickets and one for Tim Southee.

New Zealand 1st Innings scored 88 for all-out in 39.5 overs with top scorer by Mitchell Santner cracked a 29 off 51-balls including 4-fours & a six.

Daryl Mitchell hit 13 off 15-balls including one-six & a four and Rachin Ravindra scored 10 off 25-balls included a boundary.

1st innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Prabath Jayasuriya claimed a 6-wickets for 42-runs in 18-overs including six maidens.

Debutant Nishan Peiris - who picked up 3-wickets for 33-runs in 17.5-overs on his debut Test match and Asitha Fernando took one-wicket.

New Zealand 2nd Innings scored 260 for all-out in 81.4 overs with top scorer by Glenn Phillips cracked a 78 off 99-balls including 6-fours & 3-sixes.

Mitchell Santner struck 67 off 115-balls including 6-fours & 3-sixes, Devon Conway blasted a 61 off 62-balls including 10-fours & a six with strike rate of 98.38.

Tom Blundell blasted a 60 off 64-balls included 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 93.75, Kane Williamson struck 46 off 58-balls included four boundaries and Ajaz Patel scored 22 off 40-balls contained 3-fours & a six.

2nd Innings Sri Lanka best bowler by Nishan Peiris claimed a 6-wickets on his debut Test match, Prabath Jayasuriya picked up 3-wickets and one for Dhananjaya de Silva.

Kamindu Mendis named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 182 off 250-balls.

Prabath Jayasuriya earned player of the series for contributing 18-wickets in the two-match series.
