Opener Ryan Rickelton's career-best 91, Tristan Stubbs' brilliant 79 and Lizaad Williams' career-best four-for gives South Africa comfortable 139-run victory over Ireland and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

  • Lizaad Williams' 4 for 32 was his best bowling performance for South Africa in One-day international and the joint fourth best-bowling-figures by an South African bowler against Ireland in ODIs, jointly with Robin Peterson.

South Africa scored 271-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ryan Rickelton struck 91 off 102-balls - who fell nine-run short of his century.


Tristan Stubbs cracked a 79 off 86-balls including 4-sixes & 2-fours, Bjorn Fortuin hit 28 off 34-balls included 2-fours and Lungi Ngidi hit a unbeaten 20 off 17-balls contained one-six & a four.

Ireland best bowler by Mark Adair claimed a 4-wickets for 50-runs in 10-overs, Craig Young picked up 3-wickets for 45-runs in 10-overss including a maiden, Graham Hume and Andy McBrine both took one-wickets.

Ireland bundled out for 132 in 31.5 overs with top scorer by George Dockrell hit 21 off 32-balls including 2-fours.

Andy Balbirnie scored 20 off 28-balls including 2-fours & a six, Curtis Campher cracked a 20 off 36-balls included 2-fours & a six, Andy McBrine scored 14 off 20-balls without a boundary, Harry Tector, Mark Adair and Craig Young each 12-runs.

South Africa best bowler by Lizaad Williams claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 32-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Bjorn Fortuin, Lungi Ngidi both 2-wickets and one for Wiaan Mulder - Ottneil Baartman.

Ryan Rickelton named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best 91 off facing 102-balls including 7-fours & 3-sixes.
