Openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis' blazing half-centuries powers to West Indies chased their record target of 180 against Sri Lanka by a  convincing 5-wickets, despite a Charith Asalanka - Kamindu Mendis' fifties and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

Brandon King hammered a 25-ball his fastest fifty for West Indies in T20 international and the second fastest fifty by an West Indies batsman against Sri Lanka in T20Is after Andre Fletcher's 22-ball half-century at Pallekelle in 2015. Evin Lewis hammered a 27-ball his seventh fastest fifty for West Indies in T20 international and the third fastest fifty by an West Indies batsman against Sri Lanka in T20Is.

Sri Lanka scored 179-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Charith Asalanka cracked a 59 off 35-balls including 9-fours with strike rate of 168.57.

Kamindu Mendis struck 51 off 40-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 127.50, Kusal Mendis hit 19 off 16-balls included one-six & a four and Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 17 off 11-balls included one-six & a four.

West Indies best bowler by Romario Shepherd captured 2-wickets, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Springer, Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph each took one-wickets.

West Indies chased 180-5 in 19.1 overs with top scorer by Brandon King blasted a 63 off 33-balls, Evin Lewis hammered a 50 off 28-balls including 5-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 178.57, Roston Chase scored 19 off 16-balls included a boundary and Sherfane Rutherford 14.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Matheesha Pathirana captured two-wickets, Kamindu Mendis, Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga each took one-wickets.

Brandon King named Player of the match for his blazing batting performance to smashed a 63 off facing 33-balls including 11-fours & a six with strike rate of 190.90.
