  • India's 150 was their joint lowest total in a first innings against Australia in Australian soil in Test matches, jointly their 150 at Sydney in 2000.
  • This is the fourth instances of visiting teams getting bowled out below 200 runs after choosing to bat first in the Test series opener in Australia. England made only 134 in 1958 and 147 in 2021, while Sri Lanka got all out for 144 in a day-night Test in 2019, all three at the Gabba.
  • Rishabh Pant's 661 Runs against Australia in Tests -  the most runs by a visiting wicketkeeper on Australian soil, surpassing the previous record of 643-runs by Alan Knott.
  • Nitish Kumar Reddy's 41 was the second highest score by an Indian No.8 batsman against Australia on debut Test match after Dattu Phadkar's 51 at Sydney in 1947.

* Captain Jasprit Bumrah's attacking four-wicket haul and Mohammed Siraj's two wickets as India fightback after India bowled out for 150 on the 17-wicket opening day of the first Test match.


India 1st Innings scored 150 for all-out in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy - who hammered a 41 off 59-balls on his debut Test match - including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 69.49.

Rishabh Pant struck 37 off 78-balls including 3-fours & a six, KL Rahul hit 26 off 74-balls included 3-fours and Dhruv Jurel scored 11 off 20-balls contained two boundaries.

1st Innings Australia best bowler by Josh Hazlewood claimed a 4-wickets for 29-runs in 13-overs including five maidens, Mitchell Marsh captured 2-wickets for 12-runs in 5-overs included a maiden.

Mitchell Starc strikes 2-wickets for 14-runs in 11-overs including three maidens, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins both took 2-wickets.

Australia 2nd Innings scored 67-7 in 27-overs at stumps - with top scorer by Alex Carey cracked a unbeaten 19 off 28-balls including 3-fours.

Travis Head hit 11 off 13-balls including 2-fours and Nathan McSweeney scored 10 off 13-balls contained two boundaries.

1st Innings India best bowler by Jasprit Bumrah claimed a 4-wickets for 17-runs in 10-overs including three maidens, Mohammed Siraj took 2-wickets and Debutant Harshit Rana - who took one-wicket on his debut Tets match.
