Sanju Samson's record-breaking century before Spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakravarthy's three-wicket hauls helped to India massive 61-run victory over South Africa and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

Sanju Samson hammered a 47-ball his second fastest century for India in T20 international and the fastest century by the Indian batsman against South Africa in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 55-ball hundred held by Suryakumar Yadav at Johannesburg in 2023. Sanju Samson became the fourth Indian batsman to score a century against South Africa in T20Is after Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. Sanju Samson became the fourth Indian batsman to scored two or more centuries in T20Is after Rohit Sharma (5), Suryakumar Yadav (4) and KL Rahul (2). Sanju Samson's 107 was his second highest score for India in T20 international and the highest-score by an Indian batsman against South Africa in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 106 held by Rohit Sharma at Dharamsala in 2015. 10 : Sanju Samson equalled a joint most sixes hit in an innings in T20 International, jointly with 10-sixes hit by Rohit Sharma against Sri Lanka at Indore in 2017. 66 : Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav set up the third highest second-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in T20Is. 77 : Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma set up the fifth highest third-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in T20Is. India's 203 was their fourth highest score against South Africa in T20 international and It is their second highest total at Durban in T20Is after their 218 against England in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20. This was the 38th time India scored 200 or more in a T20I – most by any side in T20I cricket history. Australia had (23) and South Africa (22). South Africa's 141 was their eighth lowest score in a completed innings against India in T20Is.

India scored mammoth total of 202-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Sanju Samson hammered a 107 off 50-balls - which was his 2nd T20I hundred and his first century against South Africa in T20Is.

Tilak Varma hammered a 33 off 18-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 183.33, Suryakumar Yadav hit 21 off 17-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 123.52 and Rinku Singh scored 11-balls contained two boundaries.

South Africa best bowler by Gerald Coetzee picked up 3-wickets for 37-runs in 4-overs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Nqabayomzi Peter and Patrick Kruger each took one-wickets.

South Africa bowled out for 141 in 17.5 overs with top scorer by Heinrich Klaasen cracked a 25 off 22-balls including 2-fours & a six.

Gerald Coetzee blasted a 23 off 11-balls including 3-sixes with strike rate of 209.09, Ryan Rickelton hammered a 21 off 11-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 190.90 and David Miller scored 18 off 22-balls with one-six & a four.

India best bowler by Varun Chakravarthy picked up 3-wickets for 25-runs in 4-overs, Ravi Bishnoi captured three-wickets for 28-runs in 4-overs, Avesh Khan took 2-wickets and one for Arshdeep Singh.

Sanju Samson named Player of the match for his record-breaking scintillating batting performance to smashed a 107-runs knocked off facing 50-balls including 10-sixes and 7-fours with strike rate of 214.
