South Africa's 208 was their fifth highest score against India in T20 international and It is their fourth highest total at SuperSport Park, Centurion in T20Is. Marco Jansen hammered a 16-ball second fastest fifty for South Africa in T20 international after Quinton de Kock's 15-ball fifty against West Indies at same venue in the last year and the fastest fifty by an South African batsman against India in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 22-ball half-century jointly held by Heinrich Klaasen at same venue in 2018 and David Miller at Delhi in 2022.

Flying ants stop play

We've had bees at the Wanderers but this is, to this amateur historian's mind, the first time flying ants have stopped play. What, you may ask? Maybe you call them Patingas or Parwana or Eeyal or Eesal but you probably know the ones. They come before the rain, are attracted to light and shed their wings upon landing, and there were so many of them at SuperSport Park, the umpires were concerned they would fly into the players' eyes. The players were taken off after an over of South Africa's chase and a light pylon at SuperSport Park was turned off in the hope the flying ants would find somewhere else to congregate. After 28 minutes, they did and play could resume with no overs lost. It's wild out in Africa, they say, and so it was.

India scored mammoth total of 219-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Tilak Varma hammered a career-best unbeaten 107 off 56-balls - which was his 1st T20I hundred.

Abhishek Sharma blasted a 50 off 25-balls including 5-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 200, Hardik Pandya scored 18 off 16-balls included three boundaries and Ramandeep Singh - who hammered a 15 off 6-balls on his debut T20I match - including one-six & a four with strike rate of 250.

South Africa best bowler by Andile Simelane, Keshav Maharaj both took 2-wickets and one for Marco Jansen.

South Africa scored 7 for without lost a wicket in 1-over - when flying ants stop the play - with top scorer by Reeza Hendricks 5 not out and Ryan Rickelton 2 not out.

South Africa scored 208-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Marco Jansen hammered a 54 off 17-balls including 5-sixes & 4-fours with strike rate of 317.64.

India best bowler by Arshdeep Singh picked up 3-wickets for 37-runs in 4-overs, Varun Chakravarthy took 2-wickets and one for Axar Patel - Hardik Pandya.

Tilak Varma named Player of the match for his whirlwind batting performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 107-runs knocked off facing 56-balls including 8-fours and 7-sixes with strike rate of 191.07.
